(102501) The iElectron GPS pulse generator re3ferences the Global Position Satellite system and determines location within a few feet. It computes and generates a distance pulse as required by Taxi Meters, providing dependable accurate information. This allows the meter to calculate the fare accurately. This device eliminates the need to connect to Vehicle Speed Sensor circuits, which are often undependable. It also eliminates the need for a device plugged into the OBDII diagnostic jack beneath the dash console. These worked well, but sometimes caused interesting problems to the engine and control circuits. With the GPS Generator, you can place the small module behind the taximeter, or under the dash. It requires only a connection to key-switched power and to ground, plus a tiny antenna which comes with the device. That can be placed on the roof, or even on the flat portion of the dash behind the meter, as long as it can see the sky clearly. We have tested the device set up both ways, and it has worked well without fail. [If you spend most of your time in the Holland Tunnel, it will not work until you come out! Then it updates.]
